【Reparation and production】
I produce and repare mikoshi. I mainly restore them and do maintenance for Shintō
shrines related festivals.
I am flexible with the budget examining the situation, such as the shape of mikoshi
and the structure as far as movement concerns.

Before restoration

After restoration (Mikoshi of Kasuga Shrine, Yokohama Prefecture)

【Management and consultation for religious festivals and events】

I organize general consultation for administration at various festivals, events and their
execution.

Bizen no kuni Sōjagū Shrine, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture.
At the festival for the completion of the restoration which commemorates the
reconstruction of the Shintō shrine.
I got asked to carry a mikoshi that had never been carried before in this Shrine, so I
restored it and this is the day where it has been carried for the first time.

【Festival support】
I’ve been told many times that there are difficulties for keeping matsuri tradition
alive due to lack of personnel, but mikoshi carriers and staff are fewer and fewer.
I offer opportunities for students and young people to actively participate at matsuri,
provide cultural education that teach the fun and significance of these religious
festivals.
Matsuri is an important cultural aspect that remains in Japanese territories. Before it
disappear, let’s think together a solution on how to connect it to the next generation.

Inari Shrine, Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Students participated with me at the local matsuri and together we carried mikoshi.
For the students it was a big motivation for young people in the surrounding area.

[International Development]

successfully carrying mikoshi abroad.
I have been discussing the method for how to develop matsuri abroad with Shintō
Priests that were present at the ceremony in order to share correctly Japanese culture.

Moreover, our purpose is passing these traditions while expanding as well the
potential of Japanese culture one step further to the next generation into the new era.
